Grammy nominated composer/arranger/trombonist Ed Neumeister frequently tours Europe, Japan and the U.S. writing for and performing as guest soloist with bands and orchestras as well as performing solo, duo, trio and quartet concerts. Believing in the concept of having a steady band, his current quartet has been together for the past four years and includes Fritz Pauer on piano, Drew Gress on bass and John Hollenbeck on drums. Their latest release being “New Standards”. A veteran of most of the major big bands including the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, Buddy Rich and Gerry Mulligan, Ed played with and wrote for the Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra (now the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra) from1981-1999. |

His compositions and arrangements are published by Meistero Music. After over 20 years in New York, in1999, Ed moved with his family from New York to Vienna, Austria where he is now Professor of Music at the University of Music and Arts in Graz and Head of the Jazz Composition Department at the Conservatory of Music in Luzern, Switzerland.Ed’s new book/CD “Trombone Technique through Music” is published by All About Jazz Publications in the Netherlands. Ed is a clinician for King Trombones through the C.G. Conn Corporation. |
