Jazz In Nashville? You better believe it! Annie Sellick may be compared to the greats – “Ella’s playfulness, Carmen’s attitude, Betty’s instincts and Anita’s flair…” (Greg Lee, WMOT jazz radio). But, she is unequivocally and undeniably an original. Don’t let her southern drawl, as sweet as biscuits n’ honey, cause you to make assumptions because there is nothing shy or demure about Ms. Sellick’s control – of the stage, the music, her sound, and her audience.
A knack for rhythm, hard-swing, phrasing and enlivening a lyric has put her on the stage and / or in the studio with luminaries such as Joey DeFrancesco, Gerald Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, Mark O’Connor, Bela Fleck, Tommy Emmanuel, and Akira Tana just to name a few. She’s toured extensively in Japan and Germany and lived briefly in New York, Los Angeles and Montreal. But around the world and back, the five-generation Nashville-native digs the pace in the South and once again calls it home.
